YAAP has appointed Sambit Mohanty as Group Chief Creative Officer, signalling its intent to make creativity a central driver of growth. With over two decades of award-winning work across leading agencies, Mohanty will lead integrated brand storytelling, social, content, influencer marketing, technology and AI across YAAP’s expanding global network.
YAAP has announced the appointment of Sambit Mohanty as its Group Chief Creative Officer, a move that underscores the digital marketing network’s ambition to place creativity at the heart of its growth strategy. The company, which has recently scaled its operations across India, the UAE and Singapore, is positioning Mohanty’s leadership as pivotal to its next chapter.
Mohanty brings more than twenty years of experience across agency networks including JWT, DDB, Bates, Elephant Design and McCann Worldgroup. His portfolio includes some of India’s most celebrated campaigns, recognised at global platforms such as Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, D&AD, One Show, Spikes Asia, Effies, Kyoorius and Abbys. Among his standout work is Shagun Ka Lifafa for Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, which won a Gold Lion at Cannes, a Grand Clio, multiple D&AD Pencils, APAC Effies and the Jay Chiat Award. More recently, his Dabba Savings Account campaign for ESAF Bank earned accolades at Cannes Lions, D&AD and the Global Grand Effies.
In his new role, Mohanty will oversee creative vision across YAAP’s network, integrating brand storytelling, social, content, influencer marketing, technology and AI into a unified offering. Dr Atul Hegde, Founder of YAAP, emphasised the significance of the appointment, stating: “The next decade of marketing will not be won by media alone, technology alone or creativity alone. It will be won by organisations that can bring all three together. Sambit is one of the most respected creative leaders in the industry and his appointment reflects the kind of company we are building.”
Mohanty himself highlighted the changing landscape of marketing, noting: “The traditional boundaries between advertising, content, social media, creators and technology no longer exist. The future belongs to integrated ideas that can move seamlessly across platforms and cultures. And as Jiddu Krishnamurti famously said, ‘The future is now.’” He added that YAAP’s entrepreneurial mindset, digital DNA and appetite for disruption provide a strong foundation for creating work that drives both cultural impact and business results.
The appointment comes at a crucial juncture for YAAP, which earlier this year successfully completed its public listing and acquired GoZoop, significantly expanding its scale and capabilities. With over 400 professionals across eight offices, the company is doubling down on creativity as a key lever for innovation and competitive advantage in the global digital marketing space.
