Club FM Kerala has launched ‘Club CULTR’, a dedicated electronic music radio show airing every Saturday night. Featuring diverse global and local sounds, the programme aims to build a community around electronic music while reshaping radio engagement for younger audiences across the state.
Club FM Kerala has taken a decisive step towards redefining radio entertainment with the launch of ‘Club CULTR’, its first dedicated electronic music show, set to air every Saturday from 9 pm to midnight. The initiative marks a significant moment in the state’s evolving music and media landscape, introducing global electronic soundscapes to a broader, mainstream audience.
The programme will showcase an eclectic mix of genres, including deep house, melodic house, indie dance and afro house, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of contemporary electronic music. Designed to go beyond conventional radio formats, ‘Club CULTR’ seeks to create an immersive listening experience that resonates with both seasoned enthusiasts and new listeners.
Backed by the award-winning team behind Kappa CULTR, known for organising one of Kerala’s largest electronic music festivals, the show builds on an already strong foundation of cultural engagement. With this on-air extension, the brand aims to bridge the gap between underground club culture and mainstream audiences, fostering a deeper appreciation for the genre across the region.
Central to the show’s curation is Circle of Artists, a Kerala-based DJ collective with a notable presence in the independent music scene. Their involvement ensures that the programming remains authentic and forward-looking, blending global influences with local talent and sensibilities. By spotlighting both emerging and established artists from Kerala, the show positions itself as a platform for creative discovery and cultural exchange.
‘Club CULTR’ also represents a broader shift in radio programming strategies, as stations increasingly adopt niche, genre-specific formats to engage younger, culturally attuned audiences. In doing so, Club FM reinforces its commitment to innovation while aligning with changing listener preferences.
Mayura Shreyams Kumar, Director, Digital, Mathrubhumi Group, highlighted the significance of the move, noting that the brand has long embraced forward-looking approaches and is now entering a new phase of collaboration with artists across Kerala and India. The expansion, she suggested, reflects a broader ambition to amplify diverse musical voices and push creative boundaries.
Jayakrishnan N, General Manager of Club FM, described the initiative as more than just a new programme, calling it a cultural movement that gives electronic music a sustained and distinctive presence on Kerala’s airwaves. He emphasised that the show underscores the station’s ongoing commitment to innovation and its focus on staying closely connected to evolving audience tastes.
With ‘Club CULTR’, Saturday nights on radio are being reimagined as immersive musical journeys, whether for listeners on the move, at social gatherings, or tuning in from home. As electronic music continues to gain momentum in India, Club FM’s latest venture positions it at the forefront of a growing cultural shift, bringing underground sounds into the mainstream spotlight.
