Omnicom Advertising India has named Rohan Mehta chief transformation officer, consolidating his leadership role after the group’s restructuring. Mehta, who founded Kinnect in 2011, will report to Aditya Kanthy and focus on strengthening capabilities across Omnicom’s ecosystem, delivering integrated solutions in digital, influencer marketing, content, CRM, technology and emerging formats.
In a significant leadership move, Omnicom Advertising India has appointed Rohan Mehta as chief transformation officer for the group, according to an internal communication. The appointment formalises Mehta’s transition into a group-level role following the restructuring that accompanied Omnicom’s acquisition of IPG last year, which brought Kinnect and other entities under its umbrella.
Mehta, who co-founded Kinnect in 2011 and steered it into becoming one of India’s most recognised digital agencies, saw the company acquired by FCB Group in 2021. With Omnicom’s subsequent acquisition of IPG, a new leadership structure was introduced. As part of that framework, Chandni Shah was elevated to CEO of Kinnect and 22feet Tribal, while Mehta’s remit expanded to a broader group role that has now been formally defined.
In his new position, Mehta will report directly to Aditya Kanthy, CEO of Omnicom Advertising India. His mandate is both ambitious and transformative: strengthening capabilities across Omnicom’s ecosystem and focusing on identified growth areas that align with the evolving demands of clients and the industry.
Central to his responsibilities will be the creation of a deployment model designed to deliver integrated solutions to clients. This model will span a wide spectrum of services including digital media, influencer marketing, content integration, customer relationship management, search optimisation and geo-targeting, online reputation management, technology, and emerging formats. The emphasis is on ensuring that Omnicom’s diverse capabilities are not only aligned but also seamlessly deployed to meet client needs in a rapidly shifting landscape.
Mehta’s appointment underscores Omnicom’s intent to consolidate its strengths and drive innovation across its portfolio in India. His track record as an entrepreneur and leader in the digital space positions him well to spearhead transformation initiatives that blend creativity with technology. For Omnicom, the move signals a commitment to building integrated, future-ready solutions that resonate with both local and global clients.
At a time when the advertising industry is navigating disruption and opportunity in equal measure, Mehta’s role as chief transformation officer is expected to be pivotal in shaping Omnicom’s next phase of growth in India.
